Sikkim Tour Packages — Monasteries, Lakes & Kanchenjunga Valleys
Hidden Himalayan kingdom
About Sikkim
Monasteries, mountain treks and Himalayan valleys.
Sikkim is India's cleanest and greenest state, a compact Himalayan kingdom of Rumtek and Pemayangtse monasteries, the sacred Tsomgo Lake, the Rabdentse ruins above Pelling and the alpine valley of North Sikkim leading toward Kanchenjunga. Palyatra's Sikkim tour packages handle the protected-area permits required for Tsomgo, Nathula and North Sikkim, with stays in Gangtok, Pelling and the Lachen–Lachung valley.
Best time to visit: March to May for rhododendron blooms and clear Kanchenjunga views; October to mid-December for crisp skies and the best mountain visibility. North Sikkim (Gurudongmar, Yumthang) is accessible from March to May and October to November; it snows heavily in winter.
Top experiences: Tsomgo Lake and the Nathula pass, the Rumtek and Pemayangtse monasteries, the Pelling skywalk and Kanchenjunga sunrise, the Yumthang Valley of Flowers, and the Lachen–Lachung alpine circuit.
Frequently asked questions: Are permits required? Yes — Tsomgo, Nathula and North Sikkim need protected-area permits, which Palyatra arranges (Nathula has a daily visitor cap and limited days). Is high altitude a concern? Gurudongmar Lake is above 5,400 m; guests with heart or lung conditions should skip it, and we acclimatise in Gangtok first. How do I reach Gangtok? Fly to Pakyong airport (Gangtok) or Bagdogra, then a 4–5 hour drive to Gangtok.
